Training is done in the form of seminars, courses of varying lengths to best suit your needs, training camps,
and private lessons.  Training is conducted by the RMATA President
Vince Fields and a team of instructors
when necessary.  For a complete listing of all upcoming RMATA Seminars and training events, visit the
RMATA

police departments, military units, martial arts schools, & any group with unique needs.

TRAINING TYPES:  (notes are provided for all students at all seminars):

***** Any level (1 through 10) from the RMATA curriculum.

*****  The Modern Army Combatives Program (MACP).

The RMATA can prepare and certify any unit, military or civilian, for a wide range of real world combative
situations for both combat and peacetime missions through the US Army's official MACP.

We offer a 1 week, 40 hour MACP level 1 course and a 2 week, 80 hour level 2 course which will prepare
students for their 4 week, level 3 course.  All courses come with official certification.

The MACP starts with the basics of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu groundfighting and progresses into the throws and
takedowns of Judo, sambo, and wrestling.  It also combines the strikes of boxing and Muay Thai kickboxing,
and contact weapons sparring with batons and knives.  This training is very hands on and will put each student
through many hours of rigorous live sparring & grappling.

*****  Apprehension Techniques & Control Tactics for law enforcement.

Law enforcement agencies can't afford NOT to have this type of training!  Officers need to know how to deal
with violent suspects in all ranges of combat and how to quickly apprehend them without causing or receiving
injuries.  Issues such as following proper departmental policies, use of force, dealing with multiple opponents,
pain compliance & verbal directions, 1 on 1 situations, 2 on 1 situations, and 1 on 2 situations are addressed.

This type of training greatly helps reduce the number of injuries that officers and suspects receive, the amount
of use of impact weapons to subdue suspects and the number of citizen complaints against the police!  Officer
confidence will skyrocket as they will feel much more comfortable putting their hands on suspects knowing
that they can quickly and simply apprehend them, as they will have done many times in training.  This is one of
the most overlooked aspects of training in law enforcement agencies and it must be addressed!  Don't let
issues of liability or training injuries prevent you or your organization from receiving this type of training.
Officers and suspects are already receiving injuries on the job, so if officers learn how to do the physical aspect
of apprehending resisting opponents in the most efficient ways possible you will see the injury rates drop.

As far as receiving an injury in training, that is a much more controlled environment than the street where an
initial injury can lead to death.  Is it better for an officer to have a training partner sitting on their chest striking
them in an environment in which they can signal for them to stop and learn what they are doing wrong, or for an
officer to first have this type of experience on the street where the suspect might beat them to death?  Lives
depend on this type of training.  Remember the 6 P's... Proper Prior Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.

*****  Any technical aspect of Mixed Martial Arts.

This includes No Holds Barred Fighting/ Submission Grappling (Kicking, punching, knees, elbows, headbutts,
the clinch, takedowns, throws, all ground positions and detailed submissions, strategies, drills, realistic stick
and knife fighting, defending, disarming & countering, biting, eye gouging, and other physical techniques.)
This type of seminar is technique based with the seminar coordinator and the RMATA instructor discussing the
needs and desires of the school to select the content of the seminar.  The seminar can focus specifically on one
thing (i.e, leglocks, clinch fighting, takedowns, etc) or cover many topics in an attempt at well-roundedness.
The seminar can be geared towards beginners, mid-level, or advanced level martial artists, or a mix of all skill
levels.  They can also be set up to accomplish long term or short term training goals (Example; over 100
techniques in 4 hours with only the advanced martial artists "getting" it, or around 40 techniques in 4 hours
with everyone "getting" it.)

*****  Street self defense techniques & strategies.

Not only will simple, effective fighting techniques be covered, but also the legalities of self defense and the
mental side of physical confrontations; which is even more important that the actual physical techniques.  We
will go through several scenarios to simulate realism, and break down strategic and technical errors.  What can
you legally do in self-defense?  What should you do?  When should you initiate an attack?  When should you
stop?  How can you get past the paralysis that fear can cause?  All of these questions and more are addressed
